This week I’m refinancing my little cottage in Burien. And wouldn’t you know the appraiser arrived in the middle of a torrential downpour. Poor man! By the time he’d measured and photographed every inch of my little house he was calling for a lifeboat or snorkel. An hour after he left, the sun broke through the clouds raining glorious light over the scene. That’s the way we do things around here. One positive thing to come out of the storm: When the appraiser checked the attic he was sure to have noticed there were no leaks in the roof.
